ASHLAND – In his 45th and final season as Oregon Tech's head men's basketball coach, Danny Miles has never lost nine straight games to the same team. His alma mater has a chance to complete feat Tuesday night.

As usual, more than just bragging rights will be at stake when Cascade Collegiate Conference rivals Southern Oregon and OIT face off at 7:30 p.m. at Danny Miles Court. The 10th-ranked Raiders (13-3 overall, 6-0 CCC) play their next four on the road, a swing that will round out the first half of CCC play, and will need a strong showing to keep first place to themselves.

The Owls (11-4, 2-4) were ranked seventh nationally just a month ago but have stumbled since. Already losers of three CCC home games, they need a win to avoid irrelevance early in the conference title race.

SOU's current eight-game win streak in the head-to-head series with the Owls is tied with Northwest Nazarene's from 1993-97 for the longest against Miles-coached teams.  Prior to this stretch, the Raiders had lost 28 of their previous 29 against OIT.

Their other game this week is Sunday in College Place, Wash., against CCC newcomer Walla Walla, which has lost 12 straight.

Quick Hits:
– SOU is 6-0 in CCC play for the first time since the 1998-99 season, but the Raiders have trailed at halftime in five of those wins. In those same five games, they've led for a combined 72 minutes and trailed for 127 minutes. SOU's 18-point second-half comeback against Warner Pacific was its biggest turnaround since trailing by 19 at College of Idaho and winning 64-61 on Dec. 17, 2011.
– In his last four games, Jordan West has established career-highs in points (38 at Northwest), assists (8 vs. Multnomah) and blocks (3 at Evergreen), and has pulled down 34 rebounds – the most in his career during a four-game stretch. He's averaging 16.7 points in CCC play, and his 5.3 assists per game rank second. He's the only non-guard in the top-10.
Kenny Meyer is averaging 11 points in SOU's last five games after averaging 4.3 through the first 11. He went 4-for-5 from 3-point range against Warner Pacific, including 3-of-3 down the stretch.
– The Raiders went 11-for-21 from 3-point range Thursday against Warner Pacific. They've made 10-plus triples in three straight games for the first time since 2013-14, and both their field-goal (52.2) and 3-point (42.4) percentages top the CCC in league games.
– Among the leaders in CCC scoring, Ben DeSaulnier ranks 11th (17.5 points), Joel Spear 17th (16.2) and Clay Sierra 27th (12.8). DeSaulnier has been in double figures every conference game, while Spear and Sierra have been in double figures five of six games. Sierra is also second in the league in field-goal percentage (68.8) and Spear is fifth in assists (5.0).

About Oregon Tech: Like a handful of other teams in the CCC, the Owls are living and dying by the 3-ball; 42 percent of their total field-goal attempts have come from downtown, and the three players in their rotation taller than 6-foot-4 are accounting for just over nine points per game combined… Senior guard Lavar Moore (18.5 points) and junior swingman Joel Yellow Owl (16.1 points) have accounted for 47 percent of the team's total shots, and senior guard Austen Flint (12.6 points) is one of the CCC's top 3-point shooters with 45.8-percent marksmanship (44-of-96) this season… In their four losses, the Owls have shot 31 percent from downtown; in their 11 wins, they've shot 43 percent… They'd lost 10 straight CCC games dating back to last season until winning at Evergreen on Dec. 20… Until Jan. 5, 2013 they hadn't lost at home against SOU in 14 years, and they've had leads in the last two minutes each of the last two meetings in Klamath Falls… Tuesday's meeting will be the 230th between the schools. Prior to the current streak, SOU had never won more than five straight in the series.

About Walla Walla: The only previous meeting between the Raiders and Wolves was a 75-69 SOU win during the 2009-10 season…  The Wolves' last win was a 72-67 upset on Nov. 7 of Montana Western, which appeared in the NAIA Div. I poll at the time. They haven't come within 15 points of any NAIA school except Multnomah since…  They shoot 35 percent, the lowest mark in the league, and are led by Ethan Osias (13.9 points) and Chad Torkelsen (13 points), who have already combined to attempt 183 3-pointers.
