Chris Slack, SOU Sports Info Grad Assistant

COLLEGE PLACE, Wash.
Dakota Scott and Carlos Magana recorded the first hat tricks in Southern Oregon men's soccer history and Roberto Lupera had three assists Friday as the Raiders dominated Walla Walla, 11-0, in their Cascade Conference opener.

While the two hat tricks are the first in program history, one was set prior to halftime and at the other at end of the game. Scott scored his goals in the fifth, 17th and 39th  and 44th minutes, while Magana scored three of SOU's five second-half goals in the 49th, 59th and 85th. The Raiders (3-1 overall) established a new team goals record and shut out their third straight opponent.

The Wolves, who went 0-15 in 2015, their first year in the NAIA, were playing their first game of the season.

They helped out SOU with an own goal 3:41 into the game and Scott found Ahmon Afenegus in the box 71 seconds later to make it 2-0. After Scott's second goal, the Raiders deposited three goals the final seven minutes of the first half: Sean McManamon scored inside the box, Kelly Gieber assisted Mitchell Pinney, and Scott struck again off a McManamon assist.

After starting the first half on a high note, the Raiders remained aggressive in the second.

After Magana scored his first goal of the contest from Michael Miller in the 49th minute, Lupera assisted on the Raiders' next three goals – first hitting Paul Matyas second after Miller's socre, then Magana in the 58th from the right wing, and finally Jared Delaney's first goal as a Raider in the 78th. Magana finished off his hat trick to finish it off.

SOU dominated the stat line, outshooting the Wolves 36-2 on the game, with a 25-1 shot advantage in the first half. They also led WWU in corner kicks, 7-1.

The Raiders are back in action on Saturday as they travel to Multnomah (2-2 overall) to take on the Lions. The game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
