KANSAS CITY, Mo.
– Southern Oregon University will bring 18 athletes to compete in 16 events at the 66th annual NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships next week in Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The events lists were released Friday morning by the national office and the meet runs next Thursday through Saturday at Mickey Blackwell Stadium, which is serving as the host for the fourth year in a row. The Raiders have 10 total men's entries and eight women's entries – up from eight men's and three women's a year ago.

Among them are four returning outdoor All-Americans: Jessa Perkinson, Cameron Bremner, Joseph Dotson and Kevin Poteracke.

Perkinson put the Raider women in 20th place all by herself in 2016 by winning the 10,000 meters and placing third in the 5K. This year, she's be the No. 1 seed in the 5K (and will be joined by seventh-seeded teammate Kayle Blackmore) and the No. 5 seed in the 1,500.

The Raider women have never produced an All-American in the 1,500, nor have they in the 100, 200, 800 or 4x400 relay, which they'll also have competitors in.

Bremner was part of SOU's fourth-place 4x100 team in 2016, Dotson was fifth in the decathlon and Poteracke was eighth in the steeple. They'll be back in those disciplines, and Bremner will also run with the Raiders' 4x400 team. Matt East and Dwight Shaw will run the 100, Connor Cushman will be in the 5K and 10K, and Zach Beltz is slated to compete in the long jump and triple jump after winning both at the Cascade Conference Championships last week.

A complete preview will be published next week. Below are SOU's entries in full:
