SALEM – The Southern Oregon men's wrestling team banked a 25-18 Cascade Conference dual win over Corban and a 30-17 exhibition win over North Idaho College, the No. 6-ranked team in the National Junior College Athletic Association, on Sunday afternoon at the C.E. Jeffers Center.

The defeat of Corban made the Raiders 3-3 on the season. After winning the first two matches by forfeit, their lead expanded to 22-0 as 141-pounder Nick Peterson earned a 9-1 major decision against Ryan Davis, 149-pounder Travis Thorpe beat Thomas Nixon 9-4, and 157-pounder Aaron Gandara blanked Yasyf Sorensen 4-0.

Noah Talavera accounted for SOU's remaining points, winning the 174-pound match 12-5 against Matthew Bartlett. The Warriors narrowed the gap with three straight victories to end the dual.

In the exhibition against North Idaho, 141-pounder Justin Coon, Thorpe and Talavera each won by fall. Pudge Monroy (157) and Max Miller (165) won by decision and John White (197) collected six points by way of an injury default.

Thorpe and Talavera both improved to 4-1 in dual matches.

The Raiders will be in Reno, Nev., on Friday to face No. 6-ranked Southeastern (Fla.); their previously scheduled duals there against Eastern Oregon and Texas Wesleyan have been canceled. On Dec. 19, they'll compete in the Reno Tournament of Champions.
