BELLEVUE, Wash. – The No. 1-ranked Southern Oregon softball team put everything together to bring its winning streak to 11 games, victimizing Northwest (Wash.) 15-0 and 4-0 in a Cascade Conference doubleheader Saturday at Bellevue High School.

Over the afternoon's 12 total innings played, the Raiders (17-1, 5-0 CCC) compiled 30 hits, did not commit an error defensively, and got two complete-game shutouts from their pitchers. Gabby Sandoval took the five-inning opener with a two-hitter that went down as her 99th career victory, and Lauren Quirke pitched a one-hitter in Game 2 that took her streak of consecutive innings without allowing an earned run to 24.

The Eagles (0-10, 0-5) stayed winless.

Riley Donovan, the reigning CCC Player of the Week, helped SOU score 14 times in the first three innings of Game 1. She finished 4-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs, hitting an RBI double in the first and a two-run home run in the second that was her third of the year.

Allie Stines doubled, tripled, drove in three runs and scored two in the game. Lauren Quirke (2 RBIs, 2 runs), Katrina Winterburn (3 RBIs), Olivia Mackey (2 runs) and Avery Morehead-Hutsell (1 run, 1 RBI) also contributed two hits each, and Hannah Shimek doubled with two RBIs.

Sandoval struck out seven and walked one before Quirke followed up with eight strikeouts and one walk.

NU's Nicola Fish broke up Quirke's bid for a second no-hitter in the first inning, and Eagles pitchers Abby Brake and Becca Renick successfully stopped SOU from applying the eight-run mercy rule for a sixth straight game. But in the third inning, Mackey and Morehead-Hutsell reached on infield hits before Stines broke the tie with a single and Morehead-Hutsell made it 2-0 by scoring on a double-steal play.

The Raiders added two more in the sixth, generated by hits from Shimek, Donovan and Tayler Walker.

Mackey went 3-for-3 in the game. Stines extended her hitting streak to 16 games.

The Raiders and Eagles will play two more starting at 1 p.m. Sunday. Sandoval will presumably start Game 1, attempting to become the ninth player in NAIA history to collect 100 career wins.
