ASHLAND – The growth of the Southern Oregon University women's wrestling team will continue under head coach Joel Gibson, who has announced 10 more additions to the program for the upcoming 2021-22 season.

The Raiders' latest recruiting class is made up of seven individuals coming out of high school, including four Oregonians, along with three transfers.

They'll join a team that remains largely intact from 2020-21, when no wrestlers were charged with a season of eligibility due to Covid-19. Despite being unable to compete until the year-end national tournament due to state mandates, the Raiders placed fifth as a team at the NAIA Invitational with five top-eight finishers.

The upcoming season will be the team's seventh of existence. It starts on Oct. 29 with the Red & Black Intrasquad.

EMMA BAERLEIN | Oregon City High
Projected Weight Class: 101
Notable: Captured two Oregon high school state championships, at 100 pounds as a junior and 105 as a senior.

TIANA GILLILAND | Grants Pass High
Projected Weight Class: 101
Notable: Finished as the OSAA's state runner-up at 110 pounds as a junior in 2020, then placed fourth at 115 in the OSAA South Regional as a senior.

MIMI HAONG | Mt. Eden High (CA)
Projected Weight Class: 136
Notable: Competed with the Kaitoa Wrestling Club … Did not get to compete as a senior due to Covid-19.

SOPHIE KEEFER | Lincoln High
Projected Weight Class: 155
Notable: Placed top-three in the state two years in a row – wrestling at 125 pounds as a junior and 130 as a senior.

ADELLE KENT | Thurston High
Projected Weight Class: 155
Notable: Became an Oregon high school state champion as a senior at 170 pounds to lead Thurston to a second straight state title in 2021 … Previously earned state runner-up and high school All-America status.

CAROLINA MORENO | Kofa High (AZ)

Notable: Won two state championships in Arizona … Attained UWW junior All-America accolades.

TRYNADII ROCHA | Emmanuel College (MA)

Notable: Posted an 11-7 record in 2020-21 at Emmanuel … Started her collegiate career at Warner Pacific after winning two state freestyle and three state Greco championships at Lincoln High.

CHYNA RODRIGUEZ | Midland University (NE)

Notable: Started her collegiate career at Midland in 2018-19, when she competed at the NAIA Invitational at 155 … Graduated from Armijo High in Fairfield, Calif., where she was a state qualifier.

EMILY SE | Emmanuel College (MA)

Notable: Competed from 2019-21 at Emmanuel, and last season was a NCWWC All-American with a fourth-place finish at 130 pounds … Was also named a NWCA All-American … Graduated from Oak Ridge High in Sacramento, Calif.
