Raiders 5th in NAIA women's track & field rankings

ASHLAND – The Southern Oregon University women's track and field team is No. 5 and the Raider men are No. 31 in the USTFCCCA's latest NAIA computer rankings heading into this weekend's Lane Titan Invitational in Eugene.

The polls are calculated based on individual standings on the national performance lists. Of the Raider women's team's nine qualifying marks for the NAIA Outdoor Championships, eight are top-10 and six are of the 'A' variety. Molly Guerra tops the discus list at 155 feet 1 inch and Abi Stevens has the No. 1 high jump mark at 5-7 ¾. Stevens is also No. 3 in the heptathlon (4,601 points).

SOU's men have turned in four 'B' marks. Adam O'Brien is eighth on the pole vault list at 15-7 and AJ Sandvig is ninth in the 800 meters at 1:52.98.

The Raiders will compete Friday in distance races starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday's action will begin at 10 a.m.
