SEATTLE –
Cade O'Connor placed eighth of 26 in the 400 meters with a time of 49.87 seconds to lead Southern Oregon's condensed outfit Saturday at the University of Washington Indoor Invitational.
O'Connor, who placed fourth in the 400 at last year's Cascade Conference Championships, was just off the NAIA Indoor Championships provisional-qualifying standard of 49.21
The Raiders were represented in one women's event, the long jump, where
Abi Stevens placed 17th with a mark of 16 feet 5 ¼ inches and
Jenna Hodges was 23rd at 15-7 ¾. On Friday, Stevens hit the NAIA 'B' mark in the high jump by clearing 5-5.
An injury prevented SOU's 4x400 women's relay team from competing in its scheduled race.
SOU has one more indoor meet on the schedule to produce qualifiers, Feb. 10-11 at the Whitworth Invitational.
