ASHLAND – Southern Oregon softball pitcher Katie Machado and women's basketball point guard Meghan McIntyre were voted Cascade Conference Rize Laboratory Players of the Week on Monday, the CCC office announced.

Machado, a two-time All-CCC senior right-hander, pitched all seven innings of No. 2-ranked SOU's 5-2 win in Game 1 at Western Oregon on Saturday. She struck out six, walked one and allowed one earned run in the 25th complete game of her career, which preceded a 7-5 Raiders victory in Game 2.

McIntyre kept up her hot play during a 3-0 week for the No. 24 Raider women's basketball team, helping extend their winning streak to 10 games. In Tuesday's 75-68 win at No. 22 Oregon Tech, she logged season-highs of 29 points and seven assists. On Friday against Northwest (Wash.), she established a new season-high in assists for the second game in a row with eight to go with 13 points and five rebounds. And on Saturday against Evergreen (Wash.), she scored in double figures for the eighth consecutive game, finishing with 13 points and six assists.

In CCC play, McIntyre ranks sixth in points (16.7), third in assists (4.0) and sixth in steals (2.2) per game among all conference players. She and the Raiders (20-4 overall, 16-2 CCC) – sitting one game back of first-place Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) with a matchup between the teams looming Feb. 24 in Ashland – play their final regular-season road games this week, Friday at Bushnell and Saturday at Corban.

The Raiders softball team (3-2) is in Arizona for four nonleague games this weekend.
