ARCATA, Calif./McMINNVILLE – Carson Le Bel swept the vertical jumps at the Humboldt Invitational and Southern Oregon's throwers dominated at the Linfield Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational as the Raider track and field team went split-squad on Saturday afternoon.

Le Bel, a sophomore from Central Point, logged personal-bests to earn his two victories in Arcata, clearing 15 feet 1 inch in the pole vault and 6-4 ¾ in the high jump. In McMinnville, Andrew Mitchell won the javelin (192-6) and Luke King topped a 26-person field in the shot put (49-6 ¼).

Mitchell was also the second-place finisher in the discus (145-9) and Derrick Bennett placed fifth of 27 in the hammer (132-9). For the SOU women, Ilyhia Greely was third in the hammer (145-7) and fourth in the discus (115-11).

SOU's larger contingent was with Le Bel at the Redwood Bowl, where Cammeo Ramirez won the 1,500-meter race (results are not yet official) and was the 800 runner-up (2:26.28). The Raider women got addition wins in the high jump from Abi Stevens (5-5) – who met the NAIA Championships provisional-qualifying standard – the javelin from Katherine Martinez (117-7), the triple jump from Sienna Bauer (35-9 ½), and the 400-meter hurdles from India Ortiz (1:06.56).

Both men's relay teams, the 4x100 (42.66) and the 4x400 (3:22.26), claimed second place. Their anchor, Garrett Chaffee, was also fourth of 20 in the 200 (22.29). Coleton Urquhart added top-four finishes in both the long jump and javelin.

The Raiders compete next week at Lewis & Clark's Larry Byerly Invitational. They're two weeks away from hosting the Raider Invitational.
