TOURNAMENT CENTRAL

OREGON CITY – Josiah Green secured his first tournament championship as a Raider as the No. 7-ranked Southern Oregon men's wrestling team's backups competed on Sunday at the Clackamas Open.

Green, a senior from Portland competing at 184 pounds, went 4-0 with a pin and three decisions on the day, defeating Lusiano Lopez of Clackamas C.C. 15-8 in the title match.

Including his, the Raiders turned in eight top-three finishes. Braylin Ruchti was the runner-up at 174 pounds, while Diesel Del Rosario (125), Zach Keinonen (133), Shaiden Carr (165), Ethan Miller (184), Carson Gooley (197) and Justin Tripp (285) all placed third.

Ruchti, a sophomore and the NAIA's No. 12-ranked 174-pounder, opened with a pin and a technical fall before defeating Eastern Oregon's Kylan Guerra by 8-2 decision int the semifinals. He dropped a 4-1 decision to Clackamas' Henry Dillingham in the final.

Del Rosario had a big day at 125 after losing his opener, taking four consecutive consolation matches with a pin, two tech falls and a major decision. Keinonen went 3-1 and took his third-place match by sudden victory; Carr earned bonus points in four consecutive consolation wins; Miller posted two pins during a 4-1 day; Gooley did the same while going 3-1; and Tripp defeated a pair of teammates during his run, including Isaac Jordan by technical fall in the third-place match.

Jordan settled for fourth place along with Mikey Ladkani (141) and Bridger Foss (174). Santino Alvaro (141) and Seiya Thompson (157) earned sixth.

The Raiders have two more duals in the week ahead, traveling to Cal Poly Humboldt on Friday before making their home debut at 4 p.m. Saturday against No. 17-ranked Arizona Christian.
