ASHLAND – The No. 6-ranked Southern Oregon men's wrestling team maintained its position as the Cascade Conference favorite with a 25-19 dual win over No. 8 Embry-Riddle (Ariz.) on Saturday at Bob Riehm Arena.

A last-second takedown was all that separated the Raiders from a sweep of the first half of action, and 197-pounder Asher Ruchti won a top-10 matchup to clinch the outcome as they improved to 12-1 overall and 6-0 against CCC opponents.

The Eagles (8-4) got their biggest highlight early as No. 8 Landon Smith (125 pounds) overtook No. 5 Isaac Hampton at the buzzer for a 6-5 opening win. It was all Raiders after that as No. 15 Kyle Sieminski (133) won by major decision, No. 21 Tyler Rhue (141) caught No. 20 Adam Stanley slipping up early for a first-round pin, No. 6 Kolton Malone (149) hammered No. 13 Christian Lopez by 11-1 major decision, and No. 6 Avant Stepherson followed with a major of his own against Peyton Proper.

The four consecutive bonus-point victories gave SOU an 18-3 cushion, and No. 8 Adrian Chavez-Morales (184) extended the lead again after it was cut to five with a one-sided, 11-0 shutout of Wyatt Rewerts. Ruchti, ranked No. 4 at 197, then went ahead of No. 9 Trenton Blomquist with a second-period takedown and didn't surrender a point until the final seconds of his 8-1 win.

After Smith, the Eagles accrued their points on pins from No. 13 Jayden Luttrell (165) and No. 5 Kenneth Copley (285) and a major decision from No. 3 Daniil Gorshkov (174).

The Raiders have won three consecutive matchups in the head-to-head series. They've now won 19 in a row overall at home and 14 consecutive against CCC teams.

They're in Montana next week to face Providence and MSU-Northern.
