LA GRANDE — Southern Oregon's Lilly Pickett won her first conference title and four other Raiders earned All-CCC honors on Day 1 of the Cascade Collegiate Track & Field Championships presented by U.S. Bank.

Pickett took the 400-meter title, crossing the line in 56.05 seconds. It was the third fastest time of her career and over half a second quicker than second place Gwyndolin Katics (56.77) of British Columbia (B.C.). In the freshman's first season with the Raiders, she's won three 400-meter races. She's seeded fifth (2:13:98) in Saturday's 800-meter final and will anchor the women's 4x400-meter relay.

At the pole vault pit, Sydney Perkins and Katherine Martinez delivered second- and third-place performances, clearing identical heights of 12 feet 4.75 inches ( 3.78m). Perkins earned her first All-CCC honor with her runner-up finish, matched her personal best and improved upon her fourth-place effort at last year's championships. In the field series, the senior got over 3.48 meters on her first attempt, 3.58m on the second attempt, then 3.68m and 3.78m both in one go.

Martinez's third-place finish marked her second All-CCC nod after finishing second in 2024. The senior also cleared 3.78 meters on her first attempt after getting over the previous height of 3.68m on her third try. UBC's Sonya Urbanowicz won the title (4.10m/13-5 ¼).

Carter Stedman earned his first All-CCC honor on the track, finishing second in the men's 1,500-meter with a time of 3:55.21. The junior came through the bell lap in second place and closed in 59.53, but Trinity Western's (B.C.) Yemane Mulugeta held him off to win in 3:54.14. Mason Weisgerber was also in the mix with a lap to go, sitting in third right behind Stedman. He closed in 62.96 to finish fourth. Freshman Josh Hepner placed eighth in 4:03.77.

Alyssa Johnson took third in the women's 1,500-meter, running an SOU No. 5 time of 4:41.01. It was her first All-CCC award in the event, improving upon a fifth-place finish at the 2025 championships. The Veneta product was third at the 1,100 meter mark and held onto her position by covering the final 400m in 1:11.77. She's the top-seeded entry in Saturday's 5,000-meter final.

Gabby Morfin ran a season's best time of 14.93, placing fourth in the 100-meter hurdles. It was the freshman's first time running under 15 seconds this year as she finished one spot removed from All-Conference. She also competed in long jump, finishing ninth with a mark of 17 feet 4.25 inches (5.29m).

Sophomore Trey Lucas ran a personal best and SOU No. 7 time of 48.74 in the 400m. He placed sixth and improved on a 10th-place finish at the 2025 championships. It was the second time he dipped under 49 seconds in his career. Brodie Leslie also competed in the 400m, placing ninth in 49.92.

Two other individual Raiders picked up points during the day. Zak Weddell was eighth in the 110-meter hurdles (15.52) and Mercedes Harms finished eighth in the 10K (41:28.54). The men's 4x100 meter relay team of Isaiah Hidalgo, Leslie, Cohen Elrod and Lucas placed sixth with a season's best time of 42.35.

Saturday's events begin at 10:30 a.m. in the field and 1:30 p.m. on the track.
