ASHLAND – For the second week in a row, Southern Oregon men's soccer forward
JP Warnell was voted the Cascade Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the CCC office announced Monday.
Warnell followed up hit hat-trick debut by scoring one goal and assisting the other in last Friday's 2-1 win at Embry-Riddle (Ariz.). His efforts, both in the first 31 minutes of play, made the Raiders 2-0 before there game scheduled for Sunday at Benedictine Mesa (Ariz.) was canceled.
Through two games, Warnell has scored four goals on four shot attempts. He has registered the most points in team history for any player through their first two games at SOU.
Dating back to last season, the Raiders are unbeaten in their last eight non-conference regular season games. They'll play two more this week in Ashland: Thursday against The Master's (Calif.) and Friday against Arizona Christian, both set for 1 p.m. starts.
