The Southern Oregon women's team shook off some rough travel to defeat NCAA Division II CSU-Pueblo 8-1 today in Pueblo, Colo.

The Raiders improved to 7-1 on the year with the victory. Southern Oregon will battle NCAA Division II Colorado Christian and NCAA Division III Colorado College tomorrow in Colorado Springs.

The Raiders flew in Denver yesterday and their van trip from Denver to Pueblo took much longer than expected because of whiteout conditions hitting the Front Range of Colorado.

SOU took a 2-1 lead after doubles play, with the teams of Katie Ross (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lakeridge)/Rebecca Weicher (Grants Pass, Ore./Grants Pass) and Heidi Chiles (Redding, Calif./Foothill)/Charlotte Duran coming away with victories.

In singles play, the Raiders swept through the Thunderwolves.

With her two victories today, Ross is now tied for third all-time with 81 career victories. Ross has 41 career doubles victories (third all-time) and 40 career singles victories (fourth all-time).
