The Southern Oregon women's tennis team took a rare match, but ended up fall to 15th-ranked and regional juggernaut Lewis-Clark State 8-1 today in Lewiston, Idaho.

Lewis-Clark State improved to 4-8 on the season. Southern Oregon dropped to 3-6 and will wrap up the regular season tomorrow when they take on Montana State-Billings and College of Idaho.

"We came out and competed," SOU head coach Ari Zaslow said. "We were in a lot of the matches and showed that we belong and we can compete with them."

The Raiders got on the board in doubles' play as Liz Kiger and Emma Wilson (Crescent City, Calif./Del Norte) scored an 8-1 victory in the No. 3 doubles match

Kiger almost gave the Raiders another victory in the No. 4 singles match. Kiger won the second set 6-1 and LCSC's Elaine Lee had to battle to win 10-6 in the third set.

Freshman Lexi Thomas (Redding, Calif./Shasta) also put up a fight in the No. 2 singles match. Thomas dropped the first set 6-1 and was up 5-3 in the second set before eventually falling 7-5.
