ASHLAND – Southern Oregon's Bailey Dennis and Noah Talavera have been voted the Cascade Conference's WVT Laboratory Wrestlers of the Week, the CCC office announced Monday.

Dennis contributed to the No. 1-ranked Raider women's wrestling team's 50-0 dual win at Corban on Sunday, its first-ever perfect score. Dennis, the NAIA's No. 14-ranked 170-pounder, had one of SOU's eight wins by fall, though hers was the most consequential in terms of rankings: she upset No. 7-ranked Alexys Zepeda in 1 minute 40 seconds.

The redshirt-freshman from Madras is 4-0 in dual matches, as are the Raiders.

On the men's side, Talavera scored back-to-back wins at 174 pounds Sunday as SOU (3-3) defeated Corban in a CCC dual, 25-18, and North Idaho C.C. in an exhibition, 30-17. He won by 12-5 decision over Matthew Bartlett in the Corban dual, and against North Idaho he pinned Navarro Nanpuya – the No. 6-ranked 174-pounder in the National Junior College Athletic Association – in 30 seconds.

Talavera, a sophomore, owns a 16-7 overall record and is 5-2 in dual action.
