BLUE RIVER – Nathaniel Frink became Southern Oregon Unviersity's first-ever golf medalist on Tuesday, winning the Bushnell Fall Invitational by delivering another even round at Tokatee Golf Club.

Frink, a sophomore from La Crescenta, Calif., shot a 72 in Round 2 after turning in the same score at Eugene Country Club in Round 1. He finished two strokes ahead of second-place Jackson Muramoto of Bushnell.

Matt Forsyth shot a 2-over-par 74 in Round 2, wrapping up at 5-over for the tournament to place fourth in the 44-person men's field. He and Frink were both 1-under on the back-nine. The pair led SOU to third of seven in the team standings at 55-over.

SOU's Haley Brown was the runner-up in a 16-person women's field at 23-over. She was 9-over on Tuesday, shaving five strokes off her first-round score and finishing five strokes behind first-place Sarah Gray of Southwestern Oregon. Carley Streitler (+36) was ninth and Bryn Lawson (+47) tied for 12th.

The Raiders' other men's finishers were seventh-place Ricky Reisner (+9), 30th-place Dylan Ivens (+20), 32nd-place Cruz Kilborn (+22) and 36th-place Preston Brandt (+30).

The tournament was SOU's last until March.
