KLAMATH FALLS – Riley Kirk tied for fourth on the men's leaderboard and Keira Cheng did the same on the women's side for Southern Oregon as Oregon Tech's Run-In At The Ranch concluded Tuesday at Running Y Resort.

Kirk, a freshman from Kelso, Wash., notched a second straight top-10 finish to start his SOU career, shooting even-par in the second round to move up two spots and finish 2-over for the tournament. He led the Raiders to second place out of seven in the team standings. They were 9-over collectively, two strokes behind team champion Menlo (Calif.).

SOU's Mason Labow and Ethan Miller tied for 10th place at 4-over. Kirk and Labow both birdied five times in the second round, where the latter carded a 73. Miller had the lead after shooting a 68 in the first round and followed with an 80 in the second.

Trey Alwert of Simpson (Calif.) was the men's medalist at 2-under.

Cheng, an All-Cascade Conference performer as a freshman last year, finished 8-over. She shot a 75 in the first round and a 77 in the second, landing six strokes behind champion Quincy Beyrouty of Oregon Tech.

OIT also won the team title with a score of 34-over and the Raiders were fifth at 87-over.

They got an 11th-place finish from Haley Brown, who matched Cheng for the team's low round over the final 18 holes. She finished 14-over for the tournament.

SOU's next outing, Oct. 21-22 at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash., is the second of four CCC-counting events on the schedule.
