BUCKEYE, Ariz. – Keira Cheng shot the first under-par round in Southern Oregon women's golf history and won a playoff to earn medalist honors on Tuesday at Arizona Christian's Firestorm Invitational.

After carding a 74 in the first round at the par-72 Verrado Golf Course, Cheng carded a 71 in the second to finish 1-over and force a tie atop the leaderboard with Julie Alexander Carew of UBC Okanagan. Cheng, a sophomore, prevailed on the first playoff hole for the second tournament victory of her career.

The Raider women were fourth in the team standings at 49-over, 18 strokes behind champion Rocky Mountain (Mont.). Haley Brown (+11) tied for 11th and Camryn Schaper (+15) tied for 19th.

SOU was fifth of 11 in the men's team standings, finishing 43-over. Rocky also won that title at 15-over.

Ethan Miller led the Raiders in 14th place, completing the three-round tourney at 9-over. He was consistent throughout, shooting a 74 in the first round, a 76 in the second and a 75 in the third.

Three Raiders tied for 16th place at 13-over: Ty Beyer, Riley Kirk and Ricky Reisner. Kirk had the team's low round of the week, going 1-under in the second.

The outing was the last of the fall for the Raiders. Their spring schedule will be announced soon.
