HAYWARD, Calif. – Southern Oregon senior Alejandra Lopez made reservations again for the NAIA Outdoor Championships on Saturday night with a 10,000-meter trek that ranked among the best in Raider history.

Lopez placed fourth in the 10K at San Francisco State's Mike Fanelli Track Classic with a time of 36 minutes 53.25 seconds, putting her at No. 3 on SOU's all-time list. Her previous PR was 37:17.16 – the time she recorded to place 10th at last year's NAIA meet.

Lopez, who became an All-American during the fall at the NAIA Cross Country Championships, beat the 10K automatic-qualifying standard by 37 seconds. Her time currently ranks fifth on the national performance list.

She was among seven Raiders in action this weekend at the Chabot College Track. On the women's side, Sarah Mauk placed 79th of 183 in the 1,500 (4:52.80) and 96th of 176 in the 800 (2:20.73), while Alyssa Johnson met the Cascade Conference qualifying standard in the 5K at 17:55.11, placing 86th of 157.

The SOU men had a couple of near national qualifiers. Mason Weisgerber missed the NAIA's provisional-qualifying standard by five seconds in the 5K, placing 68th of 210 in 14:51.90, and Frankie Maciel missed it by less than eight seconds in the 10K with a mark of 31:27.77 that put him in 34th place of 61.

Luke Lucchesi won his 20-person 5K heat in 15:54.10. Rafe Blandini ran that 800 (1:59.83) and 1,500 (4:17.77).

The Raiders will have representatives next Saturday at the Humboldt Invitational in Arcata, Calif., and at Linfield's Jenn Boyman Memorial Invitational in McMinnville.
