CORVALLIS – Southern Oregon's distance runners maintained their upward trajectory and made more postseason reservations Friday at the Oregon State High Performance Meet.

Jalen Griego met the NAIA 'A' standard in the men's 10,000-meter race, Cammeo Ramirez did the same in the women's 10K and Alyssa Johnson turned in a 'B' in the women's 5K, adding to a slew of endurance qualifying times for the Raiders in recent weeks.

Griego, a junior taking his first shot at the 10K this season in Friday's invite-only race, needed to break 31 minutes to become an automatic qualifier for the NAIA Outdoor Championships and did so with two-tenths of a second to spare, finishing third in an 11-person field with a time of 30:59.79 and landing at No. 20 on the national performance list.

Ramirez hit the finish line in 36:59.97, becoming the fifth runner in SOU women's history to break 37 minutes and beating the 'A' standard by 30 seconds. She joined teammate Alejandra Lopez as an automatic qualifier in the event, her time standing at No. 14 in the NAIA.

Johnson, a freshman, landed at No. 5 on SOU's all-time 5K performance list in 17:36.98. It was an 18-second PR that put her in ninth place out of 36 in the race and No. 31 on the national list.

Another Raider freshman, Mason Weisgerber, added a 'B' time in the men's 5K (14:43.46), but it was 11 seconds shy of the 'A' time he already holds.

India Ortiz also stood out, registering a PR in the 400 hurdles of 1:05.05 to place seventh of 24.

The Raiders will compete in the second half of the meet Saturday starting at 11 a.m.
