ASHLANDMiller Bertani and Brooklyn Hayes of the Southern Oregon women's soccer team and Tessa Zimmermann of the Raider volleyball team were named Cascade Conference McDonald's Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network, on Monday afternoon.

Bertani, a senior from San Jose, Calif., earned the defensive award after helping SOU to back-to-back shutout victories, 7-0 over Corban and 1-0 over Bushnell. She and the rest of the back line limited the Raiders' opponents to eight total shots and four on goal all weekend as the Raiders turned in their seventh and eighth clean sheets.

Hayes, a junior from Cameron Park, Calif., was the offensive award winner after becoming the fourth Raider ever to score four goals in a game. She did it against Corban to bring her season goal total to 10, a number no Raider had reached since 2016.

Zimmermann, the CCC volleyball defensive winner, was instrumental in SOU's upset at top-ranked Eastern Oregon on Saturday. The junior middle from Albany had eight blocks in the four-set match, a night after assisting three in a five-set loss at No. 19 College of Idaho.

The Raider women's soccer team (11-2-1 overall, 8-1-1 CCC) is in second place entering the final weekend of the regular season, which will take them to Warner Pacific and Walla Walla (Wash.). The Raider volleyball team (11-12, 8-8) will be home for the last time this weekend to face Evergreen (Wash.) on Friday and Northwest (Wash.) on Saturday, starting both matches at 6 p.m.
