Bryce Dyer and
Bridgette McIntyre garnered conference play-of-the-week recognition for Southern Oregon University on Monday.
Kuffel was voted the Erck Hotels Frontier Conference Defensive Player of the Week after spurring a five-takeaway effort by the Raiders in a 24-21, season-ending loss at No. 13-ranked College of Idaho on Saturday. In his final appearance as a Raider, Kuffel recorded an interception, two fumble recoveries, a forced fumble and eight tackles.
The interception gave the safety from Tigard 10 in his career. He became the first Raider to reach double figures in that category since 2015.
Dyer earned top men's defensive and McIntyre picked up top women's offensive honors on the McDonald's Cascade Conference Player of the Week list presented by Urban Edge Network. During the SOU men's basketball team's 2-0 weekend, Dyer averaged 8.5 points, 10.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals. After logging his first double-double of the season in a 27-point win against Our Lady of the Lake (Texas), he had three steals in a 22-point win over No. 23-ranked Hope International (Calif.).
McIntyre stayed hot with 23 points in the Raider women's basketball team's 87-67 win against Park (Ariz.) on Saturday. She hit her first four 3-point attempts and finished 7-of-11 from downtown, establishing a new career-high for 3-point makes in a game. The senior guard added four assists and two steals.
During SOU's active three-game winning streak, McIntyre has gone 16-of-33 combined from beyond the arc.
