FINAL RESULTS
MARYSVILLE, Calif. –
Ty Beyer turned in a 72-hole score of 1-under par to lead Southern Oregon in a tie for 25th place as the Chico State Wildcat Classic finished up Tuesday at Peach Tree Golf & Country Club.
The Raider men saw NCAA Division II competition almost exclusively at the tournament and tied for 12th out of 14 teams with a collective score of 15-over. They defeated the only other NAIA team in the field, Simpson (Calif.), by 24 strokes.
Beyer shot a 3-under 69 in Monday's first round before carding back-to-back 73s in the second and third.
Oliver Ausland tied for 52nd place at 4-over after a strong finish in which he shot 1-under in the second round and even-par in the third.
James Bushmiamer (+7) tied for 66th while
Ryder Jacox (+8) and
Mason Labow (+8) tied for 69th. Jacox had SOU's other under-par round at the tourney, shooting a 71 in the second round.
Chico State won the team title at 41-under. The Wildcats' Vineet Vallamsetty and Naoki Easterday were the individual co-medalist, both finishing 13-under.
SOU competes next at Oregon Tech's Run-In at the Ranch on Sept. 29-30.
