Raiders hang in at No. 25 in latest NAIA volleyball rankings

ASHLAND – The Cascade Conference was prominently featured and Southern Oregon continued to hold a spot at No. 25 in Wednesday's latest NAIA volleyball coaches' poll.

Eight CCC teams are either among the Top 25 or receiving votes, easily the highest number of any circuit in the country: No. 1 Eastern Oregon, No. 3 Corban, No. 12 College of Idaho, No. 17 Lewis-Clark State (Idaho), No. 25 SOU, Walla Walla (Wash.), Northwest (Wash.) and Bushnell.

The Raiders took a six-spot hit, but their strength of schedule kept them from dropping out of the poll completely. They're 5-7 overall and all but one of those losses were against top-30 teams.

They helped their case by earning their best win of the season in five sets Saturday against College of Idaho. On Tuesday, they defeated Oregon Tech in four.

SOU will attempt to even its 2-3 CCC record on Thursday at Warner Pacific. The Raiders return home to face Bushnell on Sept. 26 and Corban on Sept. 27.
