WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Southern Oregon's women are in fourth place and the men are in sixth through the first of two days at the Wine Valley Invitational, which marked the start of the Raider golf program's fourth season of competition.

Midway through the 36-hole women's tournament, SOU stands at 26-over behind junior all-star Keira Cheng, whose 3-over 75 put her in a tie for fifth place on the leaderboard. Abby Francis (+5) is tied for 12th, Mia Bontrager (+7) is tied for 17th and Mya Oakes (+11) is tied for 26th.

No. 2-ranked British Columbia has the team lead at 7-over and the individual leader in Keira Hou, who carded a 69.

The men got through two of three rounds with Oregon Tech (-14), No. 19 Lewis-Clark State (-12) and No. 11 British Columbia (-11) out in front. SOU, at 9-over, is just one stroke out of fourth place.

Ricky Reisner is tied for 10th on the 50-person leaderboard after shooting a 69 in the second round that dropped his score to 1-under. Ty Beyer and Ryder Jacox are tied for 20th at 2-over, and Jacox posted a 69 in the first round. Oliver Ausland (+6) is four strokes behind them in 31st place.

LC State's Sondre Andresen and Oregon Tech's Cayson VanBeekum are the co-leaders at 11-under.

The tournament – which is the first of four Cascade Conference counters on the schedule – resumes Tuesday morning.
