COMPLETE FINAL LEADERBOARDS

HENDERSON, Nev. Oliver Ausland showed minimal signs of rust as the Southern Oregon University golf team started its spring schedule, capturing co-medalist honors on Wednesday in the Rocky Mountain College Intercollegiate at Lake Las Vegas.

Competing for the first time since the Raiders ended their fall slate in mid-October, Ausland finished 3-under par across three rounds to tie for first place with British Columbia's Leighton Wright on a 46-person leaderboard. The junior from Grants Pass earned his first co-victory by carding a 70 in Round 2 and a 71 in Round 3 on the par-72 Reflection Bay Golf Course.

"I'm proud of the way I played," Ausland said, "and I learned a lot from being in contention."

On the team leaderboards, the Raider men tied for sixth out of nine at 42-over and the women were seventh out of eight at 185-over on the week.

Ty Beyer (+9) and Ricky Reisner (+10) also impressed for SOU's men, tying for 21st and 23rd, respectively. Beyer bookended his week with matching rounds of 74 and Reisner was 3-over entering the final round.

Keira Cheng led the Raider women with a 10th-place finish, finishing 28-over. The All-Cascade Conference junior was at her best in Round 2, when she carded a 73 with an eagle and two birdies.

Mia Bontrager ended at 36-over to tie for 19th for the Raiders.

SOU competes again March 23-24 at the Simpson Invite in Redding, Calif. The first CCC tournament of the spring (and third of the year) is set for April 13-14 at Portland's Glendoveer Golf Course.
