EUGENE/McKENZIE BRIDGE – Mia Bontrager turned in a top-five finish in Bushnell's Tall Timber Invitational as the Southern Oregon men's and women's golf teams wrapped up their fall schedules.

The two-day, 36-hole affair took place on Monday at Eugene Country Club and Tuesday at Tokatee Golf Club. In the men's tournament, SOU placed fourth out of eight teams at 42-over par and the Raiders' 'B' team was seventh at 59-over. SOU's women combined to shoot 116-over to take fifth out of seven teams.

Bontrager led the Raider women for the fourth consecutive tournament this season and earned her highest placing yet in a tie for fifth out of 42 at 18-over. Abby Francis was just one strack back of her in seventh place. Both totaled 80 strokes in the second round.

The Raider men produced three top-15 placers in a 52-person field: Connor Calahan (tied 7th, +7), Ty Beyer (12th, +9) and Riggs Loftin (ttied 15th, +11). Calahan jumped 11 spots on the leaderboard in Round 2 by shooting 1-under, tying for the second-best round in the field.

Tate Alire, a freshman from Madras, competed only in Round 1 but matched Ryder Jacox for SOU's top Monday score with a 76 in his collegiate debut.

The Raiders will break until March 2-3, when they go to Henderson, Nev., for Rocky Mountain's RMC Intercollegiate tournament.
