ASHLAND – For the second year in a row, all 16 teams in the Southern Oregon University Department of Athletics qualified for NAIA Scholar Team status, as announced Tuesday by the national office.
SOU had never accomplished the feat across the board before last year. To earn the distinction, a team's full roster must have a combined grade-point average of 3.0 or better during the academic calendar year.
The Raider women's cross country (3.75) and women's track and field (3.68) led the way in 2025-26. SOU also produced 102 NAIA Scholar Athletes – those with cumulative GPAs of 3.5 or better – during the year, which was the second-highest total in department history.
