LINFIELD OPEN RESULTS
PORTLAND TWILIGHT RESULTS

McMINNVILLE/PORTLAND – The 10th-ranked Southern Oregon women's track and field team added another automatic-qualifying mark for the NAIA Outdoor Championships, this time in the 4x800-meter relay Saturday night at the Portland Twilight.

The Raider men and women competed largely at the Linfield Open, but northeast of that meet the 4x800 team's time of 9 minutes 21.27 seconds from Sarah Mauk, Lauren Forster, Maya Smith and Erin Gibson was SOU's highlight of the day. In their first attempt of the season and only chance to qualify, they needed 9:24 or better for the 'A' standard and wound up recording the second-fastest time in school history.

SOU's 4x800 time stands at No. 10 on the NAIA performance list. All three Raider women's relay teams now own top-10 'A' marks.

AJ Sandvig was the only other Raider at the Twilight, placing 12th of 43 in the men's 800 in 1:54.02.

At the Linfield Open, men's thrower Tre Holmes and women's thrower Sarah Johnston logged some of their best marks this season. Holmes did so in the shot put, placing fifth of 23 at 47 feet 6 ¼ inches, and Johnston did so in the shot put (38-1 ½) with a fifth-place showing and the hammer (133-4) with an eighth-place showing.

Gracie Freudenthal had a PR and Cascade Conference Championships-qualifying time of 2:21.92 as the runner-up in the 800. Abi Stevens won the high jump (5-5) and placed fifth in the high jump (17-1 ½). In the 100 hurdles, India Collins (15.51) took fifth and Stevens (15.64) sixth.

On the men's side, Blake Morgan took third in the 100 (11.07) and fourth in the 200 (23.21). In the 1,500, Asher Tatsumi (4:07.20), Garrett Beutel (4:07.39) and Luke Lucchesi (4:08.75) were third, fourth and fifth. Wayne Garcia added a third-place in the hammer (164-4) and Jacob Williams a fifth-place in the high jump (5-10 ¾).

SOU will host the CCC Championships presented by U.S. Bank next Friday and Saturday at Raider Stadium. A complete meet schedule will be published Monday.
