ASHLAND – A successful weekend for Southern Oregon University wrestling resulted in a sweep of the Cascade Conference's weekly awards Monday.

The No. 3-ranked Raider women's wrestling team collected the CCC Under Armour Team of the Week award after leaving Saturday's Grand View Open with a tournament-high three individual champions. One of those, 101-pound senior Esthela Trevino, was voted the CCC Rize Laboratory Women's Wrestler of the Week.

The Rize Laboratory Men's Wrestler of the Week award went to SOU's Alex Hernandez, a 174-pound redshirt-freshman who was perfect in three dual appearances. Hernandez, now 20-6 on the season and ranked No. 19 among NAIA wrestlers in his weight class, started the week with Wednesday's upset of Eastern Oregon's No. 10 Keegan Mulhill. On Saturday, he helped the Raiders to back-to-back comeback victories at Bob Riehm Arena – first with a 4-3 win by decision over San Francisco State's Gage Mettler, then with a first-round pin of Corban's Austin Mattson. SOU was trailing when Hernandez stepped on the mat for both matches.

Trevino, ranked No. 3 in the NAIA at 101, won opened the tournament with three consecutive victories by 10-0 technical fall. In the final, she upset Providence's No. 2-ranked Erin Hikiji. Trevino's record stands at 16-2 entering Sunday's regular-season finale in Ashland against Providence.

SOU's other champions at the Grand View Open were 123-pounder Carolina Moreno, a defending NAIA champion, and 170-pounder Joye Levendusky, already a two-time CCC Athlete of the Week.
