ASHLAND – Four matches were decided by late takedowns and three of them went Southern Oregon's way, swinging a 24-16 dual in the No. 9-ranked Raiders' favor against No. 13 Corban on Friday night at Riehm Arena.

Aaron Gandara, the NAIA's No. 4-ranked 157-pounder, registered a first-round pin of Gus Menne, but SOU had to gut out the rest of its victories to up its dual record to 17-3 and move within one win of tying the single-season program record.

Corban's Brayden Boyd opened the night with a pin at 125 pounds and SOU's Dylan Clark accepted a forfeit at 133 before the Raiders' Evan Potter delivered the first of several clutch moments. The No. 3-ranked 141-pounder chipped away at an early 7-0 deficit against No. 18 Luke Jensen, and with 50 seconds remaining he brought Jensen down to take a 10-9 lead that held up.

Gandara's win by fall followed a Warriors decision from Bo Davis, but the edge he gave SOU was down to 15-13 after No. 2 David Rubio ran up an 18-4 major decision on No. 14 Dylan Straley at 165.

Redshirt-freshman 174-pounder Braylin Ruchti kept the lead on the Raiders' side by defeating German Munoz, 10-8, on the strength of a three-point takedown that flipped the score with 25 seconds left. At 184, SOU's No. 13 Adrian Chavez-Morales then broke a 1-1 tie midway through the third period with a takedown that gave him an eventual 5-2 win over No. 14 Isaiah Twait.

SOU's No. 8 Asher Ruchti clinched the dual in a Top 25 matchup at 197, taking a 6-3 decision from No. 16 Hunter James. Antonio Garcia, the Warriors' No. 10-ranked heavyweight, closed the night with a 9-4 win against Ben Hughes.

The Raiders swept their season series with the Warriors and have won 10 of 11 duals against Cascade Conference opponents.
