COMPLETE MEET RESULTS
NEWBERG – The Southern Oregon track and field team capped its last indoor competition prior to the NAIA Indoor Championships with two wins at the George Fox Meet #2 on Friday.
The Raiders took first place in both men and women's pole vault with Carson Le Bel clearing 4.65m (15-3) and Katherine Martinez vaulting 3.35m (10-11¾).
Abi Stevens finished fifth in the 60-meter hurdles final with a time of 9.47 seconds after running a season-best 9.38 in the prelims.
Stevens came back in the evening to claim second in the high jump (1.65m /5-5) and third in the long jump (5.35m/17-6¾).
Stevens and Le Bel represent SOU next week for the NAIA Indoor Championships in Gainesville, Florida.
Stevens, an 11-time All-American, seeks her first national title as she ends tonight No. 1 and No. 4 on the NAIA performance list for pentathlon and high jump respectively. She's currently tied with Jessa Perkinson for the most track and field All-America honors in Raider history.
Le Bel, a junior from Central Point, is looking for his second All-American performance after finishing eighth last spring in the NAIA Outdoor Championships.
