GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Southern Oregon junior
Carson Le Bel earned his second All-America honor, finishing fourth in the pole vault on Day 3 of the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Alachua County Sports & Events Center.
Le Bel, a Rogue Valley product, matched his lifetime best Saturday by clearing 4.85 meters (15 feet 11 inches) and became the second vaulter in Raider men's track and field history to make the podium indoors.
Le Bel came in at 4.65 meters (15-3) and only missed one bar until the height that took him out at 4.90 meters (16-0 3⁄4).
Hunter Angove of The Master's vaulted 5.25 meters (17-2¾) to win the individual title.
The SOU women's team placed 20th out of 60 teams with 13 points, despite
Abi Stevens being the only competitor.
The Raiders open up the outdoor season next weekend at the Wildcat Invite, hosted by Chico State.
