REDDING, Calif. – After staying at No. 7 in Wednesday's latest NAIA Top 10 beach volleyball poll, Southern Oregon kept Simpson (Calif.) winless with back-to-back 5-0 sweeps on Thursday at the Lake Redding Beach Courts.
The Raiders dropped only one of 11 sets all day. They didn't give up more than 16 points in any of the others. Up to second place in the standings, they improved to 8-6 overall and 6-2 in the Cascade Conference.
"Our intention was to stay in the moment and play each ball with purpose," SOU coach
Paul Elliott said. "We did that today."
The Raiders have the weekend off before playing next week in Ashland, facing No. 2-ranked Corban on March 28 and Bushnell twice on March 29.
