COMPLETE MEET RESULTS

MONMOUTH – A 4x400-meter relay victory was the culmination of a solid day on the track for the Southern Oregon men, and the women got top-five finishes from Abi Stevens in three different events as Western Oregon's John Knight Invite wrapped up Saturday at McArthur Field.

Rafe Blandini, Dylan Heath, Trey Lucas and Rogue Newton turned in a time of 3 minutes 21.95 seconds to top a field that included 17 teams, giving the Raiders their first men's relay victory of any distance since 2022.

Earlier, Lucas placed fourth of 41 in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 49.27 seconds. Blandini was 17th of 86 in the 800 at 1:57.01 – a couple seconds behind teammate Frankie Maciel, who placed 12th in 1:55.10 a day after taking third in the 1,500.

In the men's field, Kobe Johnson posted a mark of 50 feet 7 ¼ inches for third place out of 41 in the shot put and Keith Sorenson cleared a season-best 14-3 ¼ with sixth in the pole vault.

Stevens starred as usual for the Raider women, taking fourth of 40 in the long jump (17-7), fifth of 39 in the 200 (25.54), and fifth of 32 in the 100 hurdles (14.79). All three marks represented season bests, and the hurdles time was a PB.

Katherine Martinez – who owns the No. 7 spot on the NAIA women's pole vault performance list at 12-1 ¼ -- cleared 11-9 ¾ for a third-place finish in her latest outing. Her teammate, Gabi Hansen, became a Cascade Conference qualifier by clearing 9-10 to place 11th.

Ilyhia Greely tacked on a fifth-place effort in the discus, throwing 122-3.

Stevens will be among SOU's representatives next Thursday and Friday at the CCC Multi-Event Championships in Klamath Falls. The Raiders will also compete Friday and Saturday at the Oregon Tech Invitational, and at Lewis & Clark's Larry Byerly Invitational.
