ASHLAND – Southern Oregon runners Alyssa Johnson and Carter Stedman and men's soccer player Daniel Palomino on Monday were voted Cascade Conference McDonald's Players of the Week, presented by Urban Edge Network.

Johnson, a junior All-American from Veneta, collected the women's cross country award after winning the Simpson Invitational in Cottonwood, Calif., on Saturday. She cleared the rest of the 23-person field by over 80 seconds with a 6,000-meter time of 24:00.62, helping the No. 19-ranked Raiders top the team standings with 25 points to Oregon Tech's 32.

Stedman was the 8K winner for the No. 22 Raider men's cross country team, topping a field of 30. The Roseburg product and junior Northwest Nazarene (Idaho) transfer clocked in at 26:32.63 in his SOU debut, edging teammate Mason Weisgerber by seven-tenths of a second. The Raiders accumulated 19 team points to defeat Oregon Tech (40) and Simpson (87).

Palomino earned the CCC Men's Soccer Offensive award after logging two goals and an assist over a pair of games for the still-unbeaten Raiders (5-0-1). The junior from Medford got the assist in last Thursday's 7-0 win over Simpson, then tallied his first career goals in Saturday's 4-1 win at Soka (Calif.) by knocking in a penalty kick and a free kick. He also helped the back line limit those opponents to three combined shots on goal.
