COMPLETE MEET RESULTS

ESTACADA – At McIver Park, the Southern Oregon University men's and women's cross country teams ran away with overall titles Saturday afternoon at the Lewis & Clark Invitational with their strongest showings yet in their third meet of the season.

The No. 3-ranked Raider men amassed just 28 points to second-place George Fox's 104 in a 13-team, 136-person, 8,000-meter race. Noah Oberriter claimed runner-up honors with a time of 24 minutes 11.5 seconds, Brandon Kelsey was third in 24:13.4 and Ryan Alexander fifth overall in 24:27.5.

"The men were much better this week," SOU coach Grier Gatlin said. "Our depth was good and I thought our top three looked strong."

On the women's side, No. 10 SOU totaled 55 points to easily beat out conference rival Northwest Christian's 81 with all five of their scorers in the top-17 of a 126-person 6K. Ariana Toland led the way in fifth by finishing in 21:41.5, followed by eighth-place Kayle Blackmore (21:47.8), ninth-place Jenna Storms (21:51.7), 16th-place Bree Weber (22:33.5) and 17thplace Sydnee Kizziar (22:29.7).

Lauren Fillipow was part of the pack in 18th place, clocking in at 22:31.0.

"The women put together a really strong team effort," Gatlin said. "They were patient and aggressive over the last 1,000 meters."

Former SOU All-American Jared Hixon, running unattached, won the men's title in 24:06.0. The Raiders' other scorers were 12th-place Gabe Loader (24:41.3) and 13th-place Deklan Humble (24:42.1), while Kalen Yeager (25:00.8) added a top-20 finish.

Gatlin noted that the courses appeared to be short of their 8K and 6K claims, accounting for the notably fast times.

The Raiders are in action again next Saturday in Rocklin, Calif., at William Jessup's Warriors Invitational – their final meet prior to the Cascade Conference Championships on Nov. 3 in Issaquah, Wash.
