The 1983 Southern Oregon National Champion Wrestling Team boasted perhaps the most talented squad in school history. Featuring three NAIA National Champions -- Greg Haga (190), Nathan Winer (142), and Brent Loftstedt (158) -- and six more District II Champions -- Hal Fabrycki (118), Doug Samarron (126), Jim Fitterer (158), Tim Jones (167), Russ Hanson (177), and Rick Chandler (275) -- the Radiers steamrolled the competition en route to the first undefeated season in school history (12-0-1). Six members on the team earned All-American status, including Loftstedt, the Raiders first ever two-time national champ. Loftstedt also took home tournament MVP honors after a pinfall victory in the title match. Fittingly, Head Coach Bob Riehm was named NAIA Coach of the Year.
