Hall of Fame
A graduate of the class of 1950, Riggs competed in football, basketball, and baseball. As a running back for 4 years, he was a member of the '46 undefeated football team (8-0). Barney was an outstanding educator who coached for 20 years in Talent, Lincoln in Medford, Central Point Junior High, and Medford's newly opened Hedrick Junior High School. Riggs coached all sports and won a significant majority of all of the competitions. Long appreciated for developing the athletic abilities of many students, he was inducted into the Medford Sports hall of Fame in 1985.
