Hall of Fame
Jim McAbee is the school's first three-sport all-conference athlete. The Talent native was named to five Oregon Collegiate Conference all-star lists, including twice as a tight end in football, twice as a point guard in basketball and once as a catcher in baseball. McAbee helped SOU capture the 1957 OCC football crown as a sophomore, and he was a member of league champion baseball teams as a junior and senior in 1958 and '59. His .461 season batting average in 1959 is the second-highest in school history.
