Class of 1984, Brent is a two-time All-American and one of the three wrestlers to win back-to-back individual national championships. As a member of the 1983 national championship team, Lofstedt led the wrestling team to its first-ever undefeated dual meet season (12-0-1). It was also the first year in which both UO and OSU were defeated in the same season. He received the Gorrarian Outstanding Wrestler Award in 1983, and was the only SOSC wrestler to be named Most Valuable at a national championship meet. Lofstedt was a co-captain and named most inspirational on the 1983 championship team. In 1991, Brent was inducted into the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics wrestling Hall of Fame.
