Southern Oregon University Athletics

Al Akins coached Southern Oregon College football from 1955-70.  He took SOC to seven Oregon Collegiate Conference championships and compiled a 71-53-3 record.  His teams led NAIA national statistics in offense for two years.  Akins played professional football, baseball, basketball, and golf, and was an All-Coast halfback at the University of Washington.  He also coached wrestling, baseball, basketball, and golf at SOC.
