Harland Yriarte, the third Raider track and field athlete to receive All-American status, is the school's first three-time All-American.  The Burns native broke school, Oregon Collegiate Conference, and NAIA District II discrus records with a 174-4 toss as a sophomore, and he finished in the top-eight in the 1969 national discus and decathlon competitions.  A member of a school record-setting mile relay team, Yriarte served as the track and filed team captain as a junior and senior.  In 1971, he finished his career having earned three conference discus championships as well as four consecutive district crowns.  The four-time NAIA top-eight discus finisher placed second nationally as a senior.
