Hall of Fame
Originally a freshman walk-on in 1981-82, Steve Tekander went on to capture NAIA 167-pound wrestling championships in 1985 and '86. One of only three two-time national individual champions in the history of Southern Oregon's tradition-rich wrestling program, the Mapleton native finished his career as a two-time captain and Most Inspirational performer. Tekander, the 1986 NAIA District II Athlete of the Year, helped the Raiders win back-to-back district team titles and top-three NAIA finishes as a junior and senior. He was inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame in 1998.
