While at SOSC in 1971, Jane Swagerty set a national record for the 50 yard backstroke, tied the national record for the 100 yard backstroke and set a regional record in the individual medley.  As of the date, her SOSC records still stand.  In 1968 Jane won a bronze medal in Olympic games in Mexico City in the 100 meter backstroke event.  She has been inducted into the Stockton, Calif. Hall of Fame and the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
