Class of 1971, Dian was an all-around athlete competing in field hockey, basketball, and tennis. Although not sponsored as an intercollegiate sport at SOC, golf was the endeavor of her most prominant athletic achievements. In 1967, Murhpy was the medalist at the Southern Oregon Golf Championship and qualified for the Women's National Collegiate Champioships. In 1974, Dian was the Oregon Amateur First Flight Champion, qualified for the Trans-National Championship, claimed the Pacific Northwest Championship title and was a semi-finalist for the National Women's Amateur Championship. Since 1989, Dian has been the head golf pro at Laguna Seca Golf Club in Monterey, California.
