The Childress borthers are two of the most talented defensive players ever to play at Southern Oregon. Jack, a four-year starting inside linebacker, was a three-time Evergreen Conference all-time and a two-time all-region choice. The 1982 NAIA All-American still holds SOU school records for tackles (376), sacks (37) and fumble recoveries (10). After playing at Oregon State Harvey transferred following his sophomore season in order to play alongside his twin brother as an outside linebacker in 1981 and '82. He joined Jack on the conference and regional all-star team and became SOU's only two-time NAIA football All-American.
